Fire Cider
Recipe
In a clean 1 Quart jar pack in
1 medium chopped onion
1 head of garlic peeled and chopped
1 Tablespoon of grated fresh ginger
1 Tablespoon of grated horseradish
1 Jalapeno pepper (seeded or not your choice)
1 Lemon cut in small pieces (including the rind)
2 Tablespoons of raw honey (to taste)
2 Tablespoons of ground Turmeric
Rosemary and Thyme (optional)
In a 1 Quart jar with a lid pack all of the above listed ingredients and fill the jar with Apple Cider Vinegar. Cover the jar with plastic wrap before closing with an airtight lid, to keep condensation from getting into your fire cider and to keep the acid in the Apple Cider Vinegar from degrading the metal lid. Place in a dark cool place for 2 to 4 weeks shaking it once or twice a day. After 2 to 4 weeks strain through a sieve or muslin cloth to separate solids. Store liquid in a clean quart jar in the refrigerator for up to 4 months. If being used to fight colds and flu and enhance your immune system take 1 to 2 Tablespoons a day. You can also add Fire Cider to homemade salad dressings and soups for a fiery finish!
This combination of ingredients has very anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidant properties, as well as antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. These are excellent for fighting colds, flu and aiding your immune system and digestion.
